Hello BASK friends! Sleep is the foundation of wellness. It has numerous health benefits, which include mood regulation, memory consolidation, focus and attention improvement, body restoration, and weight and food regulation. Unfortunately, sleep is not easy for all of us. Most of my clients report difficulty falling asleep at some point or points in their sleep cycle. Problems may occur falling asleep (initial insomnia, ) staying asleep (middle insomnia), and early morning wakening (late insomnia). Since good restful sleep is not always easy to come by, I have written some tips for you:
- Avoid caffeine, nicotine, spicy and/or heavy meals and exercise close to bedtime
- Limit blue light exposure at least an hour before bedtime
- Try to keep a consistent nighttime and wake up time each day
For more tips, please see this sleep link for the complete list.
Thanks for reading. What kind of sleeper are you? How do you facilitate good restful sleep? I hope to see you back here next time. Sleep tight and sweet dreams the next time you fall asleep.
🙂 Kerry
