Dear BASK friends!
I hope 2019 is off to a great start for you.Traditionally, many people make fitness and "losing weight" their top priorities and New Year's resolutions. However, these goals often don't come to fruition and some reasons are because the motivation for exercise is often about achieving a certain aesthetic, rather than "feeling good and strong" or for overall wellness and stress relief. Also, the amount and intensity of the exercise are often too ambitious. Research shows that people are more likely to adhere to a fitness regimen when the motivation is about wellness and health versus being appearance-based. Instead of succumbing to a culture of body shame, an impossible thin ideal, and body dissatisfaction, please click the link below for some tools I've written to help you develop a new relationship and healthier mindset about food and weight.
New Year's Body Positivity and Making Peace with Food Pledge
I wish you all positive feelings about your body and a healthy relationship with food this year and beyond. What are your health goals for 2019 and how are you incorporating a wellness mindset into your fitness motivation? How are you embracing the concept of "Food is Fuel" to support your body's energy needs? Please reach out to me if this is an area in which you would like more support. I would be honored to be your cheerleader and support in this journey.
With a grateful heart,
Kerry
