Hello BASK friends! I hope you all have been having a good week and that you are enjoying the challenges from the earlier weeks. We are in Week 4 of the BASK Body Positivity Challenge. I am late in writing for the week because I am trying to take better care of myself, by getting to bed earlier and shutting off technology. I am grateful that I listened to my body. I am a nicer mom too so I hope my kids have noticed. 🙂
For this next week, we are writing love letters to our bodies and making pledges about “why we are worth it.” In this letter, write down all of the things that have contributed to your negative feelings about your body and declare what you will do to take ongoing loving care of your body. Perhaps it is to apologize for the self-hate you have let linger a little too long, maybe it is to “let go” of negative body messages that you have internalized, maybe it is to go out in public and not give a flying “you-know-what” about what another person may or not may be thinking about you, or maybe it is to buy that article of clothing that you have been debating. The ideas and opportunities are endless. Please share below what you will do to show yourself that you are “worth it.”
That is a wrap for Body Positivity Month. What did you gain from these challenges? What kinds of things will you do differently to show you that you love yourself and are worth it? I would love your feedback.
I hope to see you back here next time.
With loving kindness,
Kerry
